Receiving: Learning to Live with an Open Heart
A Weekend workshop + Three-Week Integration
August 28–30, 2026 · Limited to 20 Participants
Early bird pricing ends June 15, 2026.
the beginning
You were born knowing how to receive.
As an infant, it was simply what you did—warmth, milk, sound, touch. You took it all in, completely open. Life lived you, formed you, and moved through you without resistance.
Then your mind came online. And with it, something shifted. You learned that some experiences felt good and others felt bad. That some people were safe and others weren't. Slowly, almost imperceptibly, your window of openness began to close.
the strategies
The mind, trying to protect you, does what minds do: it adapts. It builds strategies. Walls that feel like wisdom. Habits that feel like identity.
Some of us learn to work harder — if I can just outrun the uncertainty, stay ahead of the pain, produce enough, achieve enough, I'll be safe. The override. The push. The relentless doing.
Some of us learn to go quiet — if I don't reach too far, don't want too much, don't make myself too visible, I won't get hurt. The withdrawal. The life lived carefully inside a smaller and smaller circle.
Some of us stay busy — if there's always something to fix, manage, plan, worry about, I never have to feel what's underneath.
Some of us perfect — if I can just get it right enough, be good enough, spiritual enough, healed enough, the pain won't find me.
Different strategies. Same source.
The mind, doing its best to keep you safe from an experience it believes you can't handle.
And for a long time—it works. Until it doesn't.
the high achiever
If you're a high achiever, you've likely built your life through a very specific strategy: push harder. Override the feeling. Make it happen.
And it worked. No question. High achievers accomplish incredible things through sheer force of will.
But it comes at a cost.
Because fueling on intensity and adrenaline can only last so long. At some point, Life kicks in—through burnout, exhaustion, illness, or loss—and the override pattern stops working. Most high achievers, when this happens, push even harder, trying to force the old way back to life. Or they go quiet, feeling like failures.
Or—they surrender. And discover an entirely different way.
The old pattern isn't failure. It's an invitation.
the avoider
This same contraction happens in the quieter version—the avoider. This is where you believe your feelings and don't take action. You distract yourself with other things, waiting until the feeling is just "right" to follow through.
In both cases, the mind is running the show. And the mind, built on scarcity and fear, is not designed to lead a full life.
Maybe it started small. You sang at the school talent show. The audience laughed—not with you. Somewhere inside, a quiet decision formed: Don't be visible. It isn't safe.
A friend said something that cut deep. You pulled away. Then another hurt, another wall. Eventually you moved cities, looking for a fresh start—only to find the same ache waiting in the new zip code.
This is how it happens. Not all at once. Gradually. And life gets smaller.
life loves me when:
The day goes according to plan
Money comes in unexpectedly
I step on the scale and like the number
I sleep well and wake up energized
My partner is in a great mood
My kids eat dinner without complaints
A project comes together effortlessly
Travel goes smoothly
I feel seen and appreciated—compliments come at every turn
life doesn’t love me when:
I wake up anxious for no reason
An unexpected expense wipes out savings
The scale says something I don't want to see
There is a lice outbreak at the kids’ school
My partner is distant or short with me
A client gets upset with me
Unexpected delays extend a project by weeks
The dog’s digestive issues kept me up all night before my big presentation
I feel invisible and behind
So we spend our lives arranging for more of the first list and less of the second. We call it manifesting, optimizing, becoming our best selves. And if we can just get it right—feel good enough, heal enough, grow enough—surely we'll finally be okay.
But if this plan actually worked, no one would still be suffering. And, yet, most people are.
a different possibility
Consider this: your body is breathing right now without your input. Your digestive system, immune system, cardiovascular system—all communicating and coordinating with each other, without you doing a single thing.
That is the intelligence you come from. That is what you are made of.
And yet, because we identify as the mind, we believe its thoughts—even though thought itself arises involuntarily, the same way the body breathes. We aren't actually in control of it. We just think we are.
The mind is built on scarcity and fear. The heart isn't.
It's open, full of wisdom. When you learn to attune to it—to receive its guidance and follow it—everything changes. It becomes easier to rest. To say no. To say yes. You break out of your default conditioning and into flow.
Not because life has become easier, but because you have stopped fighting it.
That is true receiving.
Receiving the moment exactly as it is. Even when it's painful. Even when it breaks your heart. Even the rage or grief you've been keeping at arm's length for years.
Those feelings aren't obstacles to your freedom—they are the pathway home to your true nature.
This is why most manifestation practices fall short. Fix your thoughts. Shift your beliefs. Manage your energy. These are well-intentioned instructions—but management is still a form of resistance. Still a rejection of what is.
The insights that actually clear the distorted thinking don't come from effort. They arise on their own, in the softening. In the surrender. When you stop blocking them.
The mind can only work with what it already knows. But when you align with your true nature—when you learn to receive the fresh insights life is constantly offering—you begin to create from somewhere else entirely. From the unknown. From the intelligence that breathes the body, turns the seasons, and knows exactly what wants to emerge next through you.
What becomes possible from that place is beyond anything your personal self could plan or manufacture. This is the real promise of receiving—not just less suffering, but a life that feels fully alive.
WHAT shifts when you live this way?
This isn't about never working, never producing, or never achieving. It's about allowing your actions to arise from inner alignment rather than force or fear. Life is actually much simpler when you live from your true nature—which is one of receiving.
Here's what becomes available:
-

You stop overriding your body's wisdom—and start trusting what it's telling you.
-

Rest becomes something you can actually do, without guilt.
-

Saying no—or yes—comes from clarity instead of conditioning.
-

You break the arbitrary rules you didn't know you had.
-

Difficult emotions move through faster—they're no longer dams, they're rivers.
-

You act from inspiration, not urgency or fear—and the quality of everything changes.
-

Doubt, worry, and anxiety lose their grip—you see them for what they are, not what they say you are.
-

You stop using life's hard moments as evidence against yourself.
-

Joy stops being something you have to work at.
The people who've walked this path with me are living proof that this kind of deep transformation is not only possible—it's your birthright:
Heather Rae Priest | producer, advocate, artist
“My work with Amber changed how I experience my life. It was steady over the course of the work, subtle in its display, and evocative in its depth. I went into the work with an idea of what I wanted, what I was looking for — and by the end realized that I had truly transformed and the things I wanted were different. My wishes had deepened, become clearer, and left me with a sense of openness to the unknown. That was powerful. The work is really about becoming our truest selves, often without definitive lines but rather with a heightened awareness and new-found listening. I am truly grateful and would recommend this work only to those who are not afraid to go deeper.”
mike kramer | composer
“Over the course of several months, Amber was able to help me dismantle my circus show of spinning plates. I no longer felt like my whole world was one bump away from crashing down around me. I’ve finally been able to establish a solid routine in my life, including things like daily meditation to keep focused and centered. In my career as a creative person, I feel more confident than ever in expressing my authentic voice. I can clearly hear the change in the music I write these days. Probably the most profound changes in me have happened on the inside though. I’ve learned how to find balance, to forgive myself, to express gratitude, to stay curious, and to be courageous in the face of my fears."

September 16, 2026
Wednesdays 4pm–5:15pm PST
This is not a class about manifesting. It's not about affirmations, vision boards, or training your mind to think positively. This weekend, we go somewhere deeper.
Receiving: Learning to Live with an Open Heart is an immersive in-person weekend experience for people who are ready to stop trying to control their experience and start living it.
We'll work with the central question: What would it feel like to receive your life—all of it—with an open heart?
This is experiential work. You won't just hear ideas; you'll feel them shift something in you:
How It Works
Teaching and inquiry: exploring the mind's relationship with control
Breathwork and somatic practices: accessing who you are beneath the noise
Interactive group experiences: this opening happens in relationship
Space for integration: time to let what's arising actually land
And then we keep going. Three weekly virtual sessions in September give you space to integrate what opened—with your community, and with me. This isn't just a weekend event. It's a beginning.
fee

Effie Brown | CEO Gamechanger Films
“I am unapologetically ambitious. I love the fight because I know how to fight. I am comfortable in the struggle because the struggle is all I have ever known. I was grateful for these behaviors because they got me to where I am. I also knew something wasn’t right. I was mentally and spiritually exhausted. Through working with Amber, she helped me recognize that these behaviors have served their purpose but will not get me where I am supposed to go. It is time to put them down and try something new. I needed help to identify, receive and implement grace into my life. This is the crux of the work that we do. I got to admit, these sessions are sometimes confronting but truly in the best possible way. Amber creates a safe space for me to freak out, cry, and grieve but ultimately let these labels and behaviors go. Through working with Amber, I see that they don’t serve me anymore and new tools and practices are needed. Each session with Amber I come away feeling supported with new insights and tools to step into the next phase of my career and life.”
Jacqui Mendez | Licensed Family Therapist and Professional Life Coach
“Working with Amber has been life changing. In a very short time, I was able to drop old stories, gain clarity on how I love to serve and anchor into my own style of leadership. I co-created a thriving hybrid coaching-psychotherapeutic practice meeting my financial goals in less than 6 months. And, I did this without having to work harder or sacrifice more.
In my work with Amber, I experienced what it really means to co-create with Spirit and relax into completing one thing at a time with great love and care. I was able to see where my medicine is needed in the world and how to offer it with much grace and ease.
I am so grateful for Amber’s love, encouragement and her ability to mirror back to me who I really am in those moments when I had forgotten.”

about amber
Amber Krzys is a coach and spiritual guide who helps people human well—by understanding the mind, heart, and body and living from their innate wholeness rather than fear, striving, or self-improvement. Her work supports a return to presence, trust, and inner sufficiency, where clarity, peace, and meaningful change naturally arise.
She is the founder of Fierce Loving, Inc. and the creator of The School for Humaning Well, a six-month program devoted to integrating spiritual insight into real, lived human experience. For nearly two decades, Amber has supported individuals, leaders, and coaches in unhooking from survival-based patterns, softening urgency, and learning to live and lead from truth rather than pressure.
Amber’s approach is grounded, embodied, and relational. Rather than fixing or forcing change, her work invites deeper understanding of how human experience works—allowing nervous systems to settle, inner wisdom to surface, and life to move with greater ease and integrity.
A former Broadway performer, Amber is also a sought-after speaker, retreat leader, and group facilitator, known for her warmth, clarity, and ability to translate deep spiritual principles into practical, lived application.
Amber holds an MA in Spiritual Psychology and has trained with teachers including Byron Katie, Rohini Ross, Robert Holden, and Drs. Ron and Mary Hulnick. She is also the founder of bodyheart, a body-acceptance movement that supported thousands of people in cultivating a more compassionate relationship with their bodies.
Amber is committed to helping others connect with their inner wisdom and live lives of greater fulfillment, joy, and purpose. To begin, she invites you to receive the Live Your Best Day Guide, a free resource offering three simple, powerful practices to create your day from presence rather than reaction.
When not working, Amber lives in Los Angeles with her loving husband and rescue pup, Matzah.
