Break Free from Anxiety with Dr. Amy Johnson

For years, I believed peace would arrive once I had more—more money, more success, more recognition. I thought anxiety would dissolve and fulfillment would show up once I fixed what wasn't “enough”.

I genuinely couldn't understand how peace could coexist with a lower bank balance or a higher number on the scale. How Eckhart Tolle could experience deep joy while living on a park bench for two years?

This did not make sense to me.

So, I kept chasing. Innocently believing just one more client, five fewer pounds, or another compliment would bring me the holy grail of arrival.

It took me a while to see it: this was the ego's endless game. It can't be satisfied. It needs constant motion and your attention just to exist—so it plays to win, and it never lets up.

Most of humanity lives here—in a constant loop of fixing, improving, striving for “one day”. There is nothing wrong with this. I lived this pattern for a long time (still do from time-to-time)—until I woke up to something deeper.

Something expansive.
Something alive.

The truth is: Reality is much simpler than the never-enough world of the ego.

Reality is settled and satiated—always.

The idea of “more” doesn't exist because there is so much life and aliveness available already. When we really slow down to the speed of life, we see what's here beyond the mind. We feel the love that we are—and that everything is.

We've gotten so lost in our minds and the conditioning that says “nothing is enough.” But that couldn't be further from the truth.

When you drop into the experience of presence, you begin to see the mind for what it is: a tool to bring inspiration into form. (And also… a chatterbox that talks all the time!)

The more you connect with reality, the more thought appears in its true light: Just thought.
Passing. Fleeting. Not something you must obey.

Think of it this way:

We don't spend our days monitoring our right hand—tracking what it's doing and panicking if it moves. We know the right hand's function and understand that it's not who we are.

The same is true for the mind. Its function is to think. Yet, we've been conditioned to believe that thought is who we are. That's where the suffering lives.

This understanding isn't meant to stay an idea—it's meant to be felt and lived.

That's why it's one of the foundational pillars inside The School for Humaning Well. And it's why I created a Free Guest Faculty Series—so you can taste the conversation and transformation at the heart of the School.

We're lucky to begin with Dr. Amy Johnson, whose clarity around the nature of thought and identity helps people experience freedom in a way that's simple and deeply practical.

In this conversation, Amy will share how seeing the nature of thought—and the difference between imagination and reality—dissolves anxiety and makes lasting change feel effortless.

If you don't know Dr. Amy Johnson, it's a true delight to introduce you to her. Amy is a psychologist, coach, and author who has helped thousands of people find freedom from anxiety, habits, and self-doubt. She also hosts the top-rated podcast Changeable and has been featured on The Steve Harvey Show and Oprah.com. She has a unique gift for making the complex simple and showing how much freedom is available when we stop fighting our minds.

Presence is where life actually happens.

When we loosen the ego's demand for “more,” we step into the real more: the ease, love, and wholeness that have been here all along.

I hope you'll join for this conversation with Amy and experience this shift for yourself.
