The Opposite of Fast Isn’t Slow

We live in a culture obsessed with fast.
Fast food. Instant deliveries. Quick fixes—“Lose 10 lbs in 10 days!” or “Make $10K in 48 hours!”

It's no wonder we get frustrated when things take time. When slow enters the picture, it can feel like we're failing.

I often talk about my relationship with my body here. Partly because I know many in this community are facing something similar. And partly because stories have a way of making these ideas easier to understand—and to feel. They bridge the gap between concept and lived reality.

With that…this fast–slow dance can show up in many areas of life—and right now, for me, it's showing up frequently with my body.

I got “fast” results at the end of 2023 into 2024. This came from caloric restriction and intermittent fasting.

Externally, I loved what I saw. Internally, though, my system was wrecked.

Now, I'm on a different track: the healing track. The seemingly slow track.

This is about rewiring my system to become, as my friend and health coach Holly Perkins says, “a Ferrari-level fat-burning machine.”

The truth? This path doesn't deliver instant results—which feels uncomfortable in a culture wired for instant gratification. I bump up against impatience all the time—thoughts like:

Am I wasting my time?
It seems like not much is happening.
Wouldn't it be easier to just do what I did before?

But here's what I've discovered: real, lasting results don't come from quick fixes. They come from healing, nourishment, and honoring a program designed to build strength, balance hormones, and support the body's natural design.

And the results are showing up:

  • Better digestion

  • Pain-free menstrual cycles

  • No binge eating

  • Healthy hair growth

  • Increased temperature and pulse

  • …and yes, a firmer booty!

And I'm only halfway through my year-long commitment to radical healing.

What I see now is that by slowing down, my system is actually being rewired. Once that shift happens, results don't just come—sometimes they come faster than they could have on the “fast” track.

So many of us are facing similar challenges with our bodies, health, and hormones. That's why I share my experience so openly—so you know you're not alone either. There are resources and guides available.

One being, Holly Perkins. Holly is someone I trust. She's been in the health coaching field for 30 years and geeks out on research and application like no one I know!

This is the second time I've shared her work because she delivers the real, embodied results she talks about. Her free workshops are next-level: the depth, clarity, and practical tools she offers can start shifting your experience right now—no waiting, no fluff.

She's leading her next workshop series:

Midlife Muscle Mastery Workshop
Lift Smart. Eat Right. Transform Your Body Composition.

Here's just a glimpse of what you'll discover in this free event:

  • A clear understanding of why weight and BMI are outdated and misleading — and what really matters instead

  • Clarity on the critical connection between estrogen, inflammation, and muscle loss (and how to take control)

  • The knowledge to avoid the 3 biggest mistakes women make with strength training

  • A simple, proven 3-step strategy to protect and rebuild muscle that keeps you healthy, strong, and vibrant for life

It all starts Thursday, September 18 at 7 PM EST.

If you're tired of chasing quick fixes, maybe it's time to let go of “fast” altogether. To honor the pace of real transformation. To discover that slowing down is often the very thing that speeds you up.

That's why I trust Holly—and why I'm thrilled to share her work with you.

With loving,
Amber
PS: In full transparency—I'm an affiliate partner for Holly's work, which means I may receive a commission if you choose to work with her beyond this free training. As you know, I'm extremely selective about who and what I share with you. I only recommend people and programs I have experienced and fully believe in, and Holly is the real deal. Whether or not you take the next step, I hope this email sparks something in you to explore what true health looks like for you.

PPS: Holly and I will be hosting an Instagram Live to talk about all things health. That's happening on Saturday, September 20th at 10am PST. To join this conversation, click here and follow me on Instagram. Come back to my IG page on 9/20 at 10am PT and you'll be able to participate!
