The Upside Down?

If you haven't listened to The Telepathy Tapes podcast, you're missing out.  It's moving, inspiring, expansive, and quietly revolutionary.

The episodes are filled with so much heart—something the world deeply needs right now.

In one of the early episodes (5 or 6), a scientist describes how most of modern science has been built on a materialist foundation—if we can't see it or prove it, it must not exist

He uses the image of a pyramid to explain: physics at the base, then biology stacked on top, then psychology, and at the very tip-top—consciousness. Awareness. That which makes life feel like life.

But what if we've had it backwards?

What if consciousness isn't at the top, but at the base?
What if everything else—our biology, psychology, and physical world—rests on that foundational layer of awareness?

This is what gets explored in the episode. Its the direction that science is moving towards—which I love because this philosophy rings true to me.

Recently, in a private client intensive, I found myself picturing that same pyramid—only this time, with a different focus: money.

In our culture, especially in the West, we're taught to place money at the base of the pyramid. We're told—directly and indirectly—that once we have enough, then we'll be enough.

Then we'll slow down.
Then we'll play…rest…feel safe and secure.
Then we'll be more present with ourselves, our loved ones, and the Mystery of life.

We treat money as the thing that makes all else possible.

But what if that, too, is upside down?

Because here's what I see over and over again in myself and others:

People earn more money… and the rest doesn't come
Their schedules stay packed. The pressure increases.
Joy and peace remain just out of reach.
They assume they've done something wrong and invite their intellect to strategize and fix the problem—so they can finally arrive at the promised land of Presence.

But the cycle just repeats… again and again.

Additionally to highlight this point, we've all seen cultures with far fewer material resources—less wealth, less access—who still seem deeply connected to joy, to presence, to each other.

What if the real foundation isn't money—but Presence?

Presence is where we touch something deeper than thought.
Where insight lives.
Where creativity bubbles up.
Where peace finds us—not because we “figured it out,” but because we've connected to our True Nature, which is peace.

It's also where we connect with our intuition—that quiet, inner knowing that often gets drowned out by the noise of urgency, logic, and striving.

Intuition is the language of Presence. Its how wisdom moves through us.

Even Einstein spoke to this. He once said, “I never came upon any of my discoveries through the process of rational thinking.”

And another favorite: “The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant.”

This, from arguably one of the greatest scientific minds of our time.

He knew the most profound breakthroughs didn't come from thinking and strategizing harder. They came from somewhere else—from quiet, from spaciousness, from the Mystery…aka Presence.

And yes, the intellect is important. It's needed. But when we rely solely on it—especially when it comes to money—we limit the unlimited.

So here's an invitation:

For the next two weeks, take on the experiment of placing Presence at the base of your pyramid. Let everything else—including money—be built on top of that.

Prioritize space to be still.
To breathe.
To listen.
To notice.
To reconnect.

You may find this practice relaxing or challenging. Your system may slow down or speed up. Your mind may get quiet or race.

That's okay. Whatever is happening is perfect. Allow your experience to be as it is. Do your best not to resist—and if you resist, let yourself feel that. This is the process of meeting the present.

Just keep noticing and bring your awareness back to your breath.

Begin to sense the difference between the voice of your intellect… and the quieter (though sometimes loud), wiser voice of your intuition.

You don't need to get it right.
You just need to be willing.

Because Presence isn't what comes after everything is in place.
It's what allows everything else to find its 'right' place.

With loving,
Amber
PS: I'm inspired by this idea of living with Presence at the base. I'm considering offering a short group series—maybe a month long—devoted to this experiment. A space to slow down and get more comfortable with the moment… including whatever's showing up in it.

Does that sound like something you'd want to be part of?

If yes, email me at hello@amberkrzys.com and let me know. No obligation or expectation. I'm feeling into it and seeing if this creation would be something that serves you.
