It’s Not The Tool That Creates Results

There's a lot of noise in the coaching world about “what works.”
The 7 steps to create $20K in ten days.
The perfect how-to's for connecting and inviting.
The best way to get exposure and grow your audience.
And while those tactics can serve a purpose...
they're not the source of success.
The real juice—the thing that actually creates results—is much quieter.
Much deeper.
It's your inner wisdom—your most authentic self.
That subtle, sacred place within you that is connected to the higher intelligence of life and knows.
When you're anchored there—really anchored—you don't need to chase formulas.
You become the formula.
Your creativity flows in a way that matches who you truly are—your gifts, your growth, your way of seeing the world.
The timing of your ideas feels natural and relevant—like it's connected to something bigger than just you.
And the energy behind your actions is clean—coming from clarity and truth, not scarcity or proving.
But the mind doesn't always see it that way.
It wants something it knows, can rely on and is repeatable.
It looks at what someone else did and thinks,
“Oh—I'll just do that, and I'll get the same result.”
This is innocent.
It's what the mind is designed to do: analyze, compare, replicate.
But that's not how alignment works.
Oprah once shared that during the height of her show's success, competing network executives were desperate to decode her “formula.”
They thought, “Maybe it's because she's a Black, overweight woman.”
So they tried to replicate her look. Her format. Her topics.
But none of it landed.
Because those things weren't what made Oprah magnetic.
It wasn't her appearance or even her content.
It was her presence. Her alignment. Her truth.
She was being fully herself—and people could feel it.
That's what drew viewers in.
That's what made it work.
And the same is true for your coaching business.
You could follow someone else's process to the letter—
and still not get the desired result.
Not because you're doing it wrong.
But because the steps were never the magic.
You are.
Your energy.
Your alignment.
Your truth.
I learned this the hard way.
There was a long time when I believed my success came from following the steps. Specifically, The Prosperous Coach approach.
I thought, “I'm doing it right. I'm sending invitations, having conversations. That's why money is flowing in.”
And it did… until it didn't.
Suddenly, the tools I had relied on stopped working.
I panicked and pushed harder.
“I'll just send more invitations.”
But that proved fruitless.
Because the problem wasn't with the steps.
It was with my skewed understanding.
What I needed wasn't to force a tool.
What I needed was an undoing.
A season of remembering what I had forgotten:
That I was never the source of success.
Life was.
The Intelligence moving through me was. (Read this for more on this subject.)
As I surrendered to that truth, I began to realign.
And from that place—of presence, not panic—my next steps became clear.
Sometimes they were practical and radically different from what I had been trained to do. Sometimes not.
But they always came with a sense of inner yes.
This is the real foundation of your coaching practice:
Not tactics—but truth.
Not hustle—but alignment.
Not strategy first—but Big Self first.
The Intelligence within you is always more impactful than a tactic.
It is your greatest resource…your #1 tool.
Don't get me wrong—strategy and skill-building has its place.
So do steps, systems, and structure.
But don't confuse them for alignment.
When it's time to learn a new tool or implement a new strategy, you'll know.
You won't have to force it.
It will arise on its own. You just have to pay attention.
In the meantime, you can relax and ask yourself:
Am I reaching for tools from fear—or from presence?
Have I confused urgency with intuition?
What new invitation might Life be pointing me toward?
Let your answers be enough.
Let them show you what's next.
Trust what you discover—and follow the breadcrumbs.
You don't need ten.
You only need the next one.
The rest will reveal themselves in time…and alignment.
With reverence for your path,
Amber
P.S. If you're inspired by this idea and want to move it from concept to deeper embodiment, I have one spot left for an August retreat.
Here's what a recent participant shared:
“It was life-changing. Not because I became someone else, but because I remembered more deeply who I am. I left with more self-compassion, a quieter mind, and a deeper trust in my intuition and purpose. I'm showing up with more permission, clarity, and boldness—and it's already impacting how I share my work. Truly one of the best investments I've made in myself and my business.” — Sarah Sanderson
